  3. What should I wear?
    • Wear comfortable clothes that you might wear to the gym. Such items like
      • loose sweats
      • tank tops
      • shorts
      • t-shirts
      • You will not need shoes once you are in the studio
  4. Do I need a mat or can I rent one there?
    • You will need is a mat which we have for rent and for sale
  5. Do I need to bring anything to class?
    •  We recomend a towel and a water with you which you can bring with you or get at the studio.
  6. What if I can't do all the poses?
    • Please don't feel like you have to do all the poses. In fact, we encourage all students at all levels to take breaks when you need them.  If you encounter a pose that you are not quite ready for, you can ask the teacher for modifications. (All of our teachers are trained to help new students master poses safely and successfully.)  The important thing to remember is that this is your practice. We foster a non-competitive environment and ask that you honor your body and do only what is comfortable and feels right to you. With time, you may find that you can, indeed, master that challenging pose.
  7. I have been an active person all my life and have some injuries. I was told yoga would help me recover from these injuries.
    • Absolutely, our yoga will specifically work to strengthen your core and back which are most common roots of injury. It is vitally important that you communicate any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries to your teacher before class. That way the poses can be structured to accommodate your needs and help you heal and recover.  It is also important to use modifications for poses so as to support a healthy recovery.
  8. Can you lose weight doing yoga?
    • The answer is YES! Any of our Yoga classes can help you lose weight. The combination of moving through the poses and working with your breath is a great way to increase your metabolism and burn calories. And, practicing Yoga will make you more conscious and mindful of when and what you are eating and how you are taking care of your body. Yoga also improves your posture, flexibility and muscle tone, helping you look longer and leaner.
  9. Does yoga help with stress management?
    • Yoga is one of the most ancient and venerated forms of stress relief. Yoga is a complete mind/body practice that promotes mental clarity, enhanced self-awareness, physical and mental calm, and an overall sense of wellbeing and release. Any of our classes will provide excellent stress-relief and help you on your road to greater peace and happiness.
