I began practicing yoga in 2001 as part of physical therapy after a bicycle accident. I studied the Iyengar style yoga and for the first time in my adult life I learned to stand straight and walk in alignment.
Looking for more movement in my yoga practice I tried vinyasa style yoga. After my first vinyasa class I experienced an energized-calm and I couldn’t wait to return to my mat. I fell in love with vinyasa style yoga and completed teacher training at Hot Yoga in 2005.
I love to challenge myself and learn something new. Handstand in the middle of the room, arm balances and catching some air while floating to the top of the mat are some of my favorites.
I offer a challenging vinyasa flow class. We explore strong sequences with an emphasis on breath, alignment and mindful exploration. While my classes require focus and strength, they also encourage laughter and playfulness.
I have studied with and been inspired by Max Strom, Erich Schiffmann and Annie Carpenter.
In addition to teaching yoga, I have been a professional photographer for over 30 years. I have 4 grown children, 4 grandchildren and live with my husband in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
